Creating A Layout With Tables
The purpose of this tutorial is to teach you with step by step procedures how to create your very own site layout using tables! Of course, there are countless ways that you can set up a page, so this tutorial will teach you how to create a design with the following attributes:
This diagram can be difficult to decifer. This purple design is what it would look like in reality. If this is the type of layout you would like to create, be sure to follow along with the steps so you can learn how to design and code your very own table-based layout!
This tutorial will teach you how to make a simple layout from start to finish, from the design concept, to slicing, to coding it all together!
Requirements
Before we start, I have a few things to note. I will be writing the graphics portion of this tutorial with instructions based on the program Paint Shop Pro 7. If you are using a different program, you may have trouble following along.
In order to do this tutorial, you are going to need a graphics editor (preferably Jasc Paint Shop Pro), a text editor (such as Notepad or Editpad), an image you would like to work with, and some creativity!
